Is Your Christmas A Season of Overwhelm?
This Christmas, the greatest gift you can give to those around you and to yourself is a rested you.
No, I’m not crazy. I haven’t forgotten about tree trimming, present wrapping, play attending, party going, family, hosting, donating and helping. Whew!
I’m talking about something bigger than physical rest. I’m talking about rest in your soul- your mind, will & emotions. True rest. A rest that makes all the holiday things doable. A rest that colors everything with joy! A rest that brings peace.
Having a packed schedule cannot compare with the fatigue of an overloaded, stretched thin heart and mind. One makes you tired, while the other makes you weary.
And here’s the kicker. The quality of your life, how you handle that schedule, whether you see joy in it or not, is all about the health of your soul. It’s the condition of our souls that determines the quality of our lives’ journeys. If you’re living weary, it’s time for a change.
Dear Friend, I wish above all things that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2
Just as your soul prospers!
Is your soul prospering? Flourishing? Is it renewed and refreshed? Or are you running on empty and overwhelm?
How do we let the finished work of the Cross become the finished work of our soul too?
The answer is simple, though we don’t always find it easy.
Spend quiet moments with Him, reading His Word, giving thanks & listening to His voice. It is all we need for a season of peace and joy.
